The Brief
Most workplace wellbeing tools sit somewhere between a quarterly survey and a benefits portal nobody logs into. Shoogle's founder had a clear diagnosis: organisations were investing in wellbeing initiatives without any real-time signal on whether they were working. Annual surveys gave HR teams a historical picture, but weren't much use to the line manager trying to understand how their team was doing on a Tuesday afternoon. We were brought in to build the mobile app and platform from the ground up — something employees would actually use daily, while surfacing actionable data to managers. It also needed to run on both iOS and Android without maintaining two separate codebases.
What We Built
We chose Flutter, which let us ship a single codebase for both platforms without sacrificing performance or interface quality. The backend handles real-time data aggregation, feeding a dashboard where managers can track engagement trends at team and company level. Core features include peer-to-peer rewards, a habit tracker tied to personal goal-setting, and direct messaging alongside open community channels. The one-second wellbeing pulse — deliberately quick so people actually complete it — feeds into automated reporting without anyone pulling numbers by hand.
The Result
Shoogle launched as a fully functional product ready for companies to roll out to their teams, with a product that functions more like a social network than a survey tool. The Flutter build gave the client the flexibility to iterate quickly without doubling their development overhead — a real advantage for an early-stage product. The backend was built to scale with them as their customer base grows, and the platform is deep enough to replace several point solutions rather than sit alongside them.
